Cruperdu, Franciacorta
  • Serving temperature: 6-8 degrees Celsius
  • No decanting
  • No pairing
  • Appearance: pale lemon
  • Aroma: lime, green apple, apricot, peach, biscuit
  • Flavour: same as aroma, lime and apricot particularly intense
  • Structure: dry, high acidity, medium body, fine and persistent bubbles, long finish
  • Quality: very good
  • Notes: of some years, but feels young on the nose and palate, no tertiary yet. Traditional method sparkling wines from Northern Italy tend to be so acidic that they feel crunchy, especially in the style of Brut Nature/Pas Dose/Dosaggio Zero. This crunchiness makes the wine almost seem like it is solid, not liquid, which I personally do not enjoy much. Fortunately, Cruperdu is an Extra Brut. With very little dosage, but still bright acidity, the wine feels smooth, not crunchily tart, and still delightfully vertical.
Drink Responsibly.
