Enjoyed at Osteria Restori in Emilia Romagna, North Italy
  • Appearance: medium colour intensity, garnet
  • Nose: medium(+) aroma intensity, black cherry, black plum, green bell pepper, balsamic, liquorice, kirsch, meat
  • Structure: dry, medium acidity, medium(+) grippy yet smooth tannins, high alcohol(15.5%), full body, medium finish
  • Flavour: medium(+) intensity, black cherry, black plum, green bell pepper, balsamic, liquorice, kirsch
  • Balance: high alcohol is nicely balanced by very rich fruit concentration, but the alcoholic heat and prickliness are still overwhelmingly noticeable
  • Complexity: shows mostly primary and tertiary aromas/flavours
  • Definition: aroma/flavour characteristics are distinctively defined
  • Length: medium with a touch of kirsch lingering
  • Ageability: can drink now, but I’m curious to see what the wine will taste like when a lot more tertiary flavours show
  • Quality(outstanding/very good/good/acceptable): very good
